Distinctives

Equipping

We believe the local church is called to prepare its members for a life of servanthood. Authentic servanthood is a value that Jesus modeled to His disciples. Our commitment is to produce and release mature spiritual leaders who will then demonstrate God’s character by building bridges to Boston and to the world.

Depth

We believe in establishing communities where people experience life transformation. Authentic heart change is life change! Life change happens when believers make spiritual investments within each other’s lives. In essence, we need each other in order to grow spiritually. The formation of small groups will help to
facilitate environments for community, spiritual growth, and ministry mobilization.

Team

We believe that a church led by a plurality of leaders will receive the benefits of a wide variety of gifts and abilities. HCF will be served by a team of pastors rather than having one senior pastor. Recognizing the value of diversity and the strength of partnership, we are committed to team teaching from the pulpit demonstrated through multiple teaching pastors sharing the responsibility of lesson preparation and presentation.

Generosity

We believe God tremendously blesses His people with a multitude of resources. God entrusts believers in Christ to be wise stewards of these resources in order to build His kingdom. We realize that all we have is the Lord’s. Generosity means living with our hands open, giving away the truth, time, talent, and treasures that God has given us.

Cross-Cultural

We believe that God has called us to intentionally reflect the kingdom of heaven within the makeup of our congregation. This is reflected in our leadership, our worship, and through our partnerships with the body of Christ across the world.
